How to Diagnose the Code?

Often times, a P2792 OBDII trouble code can be caused by damaged wiring, a failed transmission range sensor, and even a defective shifter mechanism. So all of those will need to be checked, along with the software version in the TCM (which may need to be updated). The transmission range sensor may also need to be adjusted.
