P0955: Auto Shift Manual Mode Circuit OBD-II Trouble Code

In order to shift an automatic transmission like a manual, a switch connected to the gear lever has to send an electrical signal to the TCM every time you push the shifter in the +/- direction. This tells a sensor on the valve body which gear you would like to engage. If there is an issue with one of the components in the auto shift manual mode circuit, a P0955 DTC will be saved.
