How Serious is the Code?

A P0802 DTC is one of those codes that could be really simple, or really expensive to fix. The ECU constantly monitors transmission parts like solenoids and speed sensors. If a problem with the of these systems/parts is detected, the ECU will have a warning light come on. If it does not, the P0802 OBD2 trouble code will be saved. It generally does not have anything to do with the problem that initially prompted the warning light.
