Nissan Rogue Transmission Problems & Overview | RE0F10A CVT

2 years ago Nissan replaced tranny in my 2009 Rogue now it’s got to be replaced again with only 30,000 miles on it. Waiting to see if Nissan will make good on this one. Only have 107,000 miles on my car

I HAVE LEASED A NISSAN ROGUE 2019 A MONTH AGO, THE CAR SUDDENLY SLOWED DOWN AND STOPED ACCELERATION WHILE I WAS EXITING FROM FREEWAY AND ALL THE DANGER SIGNS APPEARED ON THE FRONT PANEL WITH WARNING ” MANUFACTURE MALFUNCTION, FOLLOW THE MANUAL”. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO SERVICE CENTER AND THEY GAVE ME THE CAR BACK AFTER 2 DAYS AND SAID EVERYTHING IS CORRECTED. ON THE NEXT DAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON THE STREET, LUCKILY THE DRIVER BEHIND ME DIDNT HIT ME BY SUDDEN BREAK. I HAVE REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP/MANAGER, AND TO THE NISSAN USA CUSTOMER DEPT THEY SAID THERE IS WARRANTY TO REPAIR. THIS IS REALLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE THIS CAR. IF SLOWS DOWN ON THE STREET ANY TIME CAN MAKE ACCIDENT. I ASKED FOR REPLACEMENT OR REIMBURSEMENT OF MONEY BUT NISSAN USA AND DEALERSHIP DIDN’T AGREE. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

Everyone, I went for another recall related to throttle risk on my Rogue in early 2017 and Nissan never mentioned this! Even at that time I CVT was noisy/whining. Now at 119500 jerking between what I deem to be around 1st and 2nd gear. I checked fluid and looks fine but not sure ever flushed. *Also read Nissan ext CVT wtty to 120K.

I have a 2011 Nissan Rogue with a transmission problem base on the diagnostic test I’m at 143,000 miles and im waiting to see if my warranty company will fix it .I was told by the Nissan dealership if they don’t cover the cost I’m looking at $4600 if I do decide to fix it on my own .I will be finish paying off for this car in August and I’m really unsure as to if I want to continue with this problem or if I even want a new car payment . My car doesn’t accelerates and only goes up to 60 once I approach 80 it jerks as if I’m shifting gears and even comes to a point where it’s also shut off . I’m afraid to continue to drive because I can damage more pieces in the transmission which can add up to an even bigger bill.

Has anyone had an issue with the car shifting out of gear and rolling back? Is so, please reply

I have a 2016 Nissan Rogue, 4 cyl . The car was towed on 6/9/18 to Quirk Nissan on the Southeastern Artery.

I was in park, I turned my car on, applied the brake to back up, my suv would not shift. Suddenly, I was holding the entire shift in my hand the spring inside went flying out from the shift holder along with a small plastic piece, They either came flying out from the holder on the shift, I feel that they did. As the shift had come right up and off the gear box. Mean time my car is running and the key is stuck in position and I could not get it out of the column. Nor could the AAA tow truck driver. I could not shift or shut the car off, or remove the key. Nor could the AAA driver. The tow company had to put my Rogue [ 2016 ] with less than 7000 miles on it, and tow it from 996 East Street, Apt. 1, Walpole to Quirk Nissan in Quincy, all the time my car is running for the 1/2 hr drive, and it is stuck in park as the transmission shift and part were completely off and in my passenger seats. I never got any recall of problems. But this could have been very serious on a highway. I do not know if I even have breaks. Please follow up on this, and with Quirk Nissan, Quincy, Ma. I trust them, that is why I have my car there, despite my paying $ 65.00 for the tow. Repair to me ? And getting back when the SUV is ready. I should not have to pay for any repair, it just fell apart in my hand, and locked the key in place. The tow company, AAA, and the delership can verify.

I bought my 2013 Nissan rogue brand new. It is now just hitting 61k, and I have been experiencing the same exact problem- sudden loss of acceleration on highway. I am a single mother and have a permanent disability, with mobiIity issues. And I have a vehicle that is a serious risk to mine and my child’s safety. I have taken the car to my local nissan dealerships several times and they have not been able to detect the problem when diagnosing. A few weeks ago, it happened once again, and when I finally (with great stress and fear) I made it home, I realized my cigarette lighter port stopped working, the alarm was not sounding when locking doors, and the sunroof was not sliding open continuously (it opens aprox 2 inches at a time, then I have to press the button to slide 2 inches again, repeat till it finally closes). I took the car in to the dealership, they ran diagnostics, and came back with “the alternator is gone so that is why the functions are not working”. They gave me an estimate of $968 CAD to replace it. The loss of acceleration issue wasnt even addressed, in fact once again I was told diagnostics didnt detect an issue. I was so shocked, I said I would have to think about it. So I paid the $130 diagnostic fees and left. I took the car in to an independent mechanic who also ran diagnostics, and found nothing wrong with alternator. But they suggested I take car in to electrical place in case there was some short somewhere that may be causing the functions that weren’t working. I took it to their recommended place and they found a blown fuse as the cause of the cigarette lighter port not working and reprogramming the key fob to work again. Sunroof- they said there is a small crack in sensor and that’s why it’s not opening/closing smoothly (note- I’ve only used the sunroof half a dozen times in the cars entire life so dont know how that could have happened). I didnt get sunroof fixed as they said it would be very expensive.
In November 2017 I had the same loss of acceleration while on a long drive. I brought it back to my local Nissan dealership, left the car there for over 2 hours, and when I returned I was told they had replaced some part but there would be no charge to me because they had tried calling me and I hadn’t answered. I thanked them and left with my car. Couple days later I realized I had forgotten to ask for the service record. I called to request a copy via email. The service dept asked me for my tel no. then asked me who had serviced my car. I gave them the name and they transferred me to the tech directly. He promised he would send it out later that day. I never recieved it. For the next few weeks I continued to call and I would keep getting transferred to the same tech who would continue to promise me he would take care of it that day. Within that time my mother got sick and hospitalized, and soon after I also got very Ill for couple months and this whole service record issue slipped my mind.
After my most recent episode and visit to the same dealership, I once again called to ask for all of the service records. They sent me all the records except for the one I had been asking for. And when I asked about it they told me they had no record of it. They kept my car for over 2 hours, did some repair work but they have no record of it??? I wrote to the headoffice about my transmission issue and the service record issue, and cc’d the dealership, and got a very generic letter referring me back to my “preferred Nissan dealership” to figure out the issue. They didnt even acknowledge the missing service record issue, nor did the dealership themselves try to reach out. I’m so disappointed with this vehicle in general. The interior seats cloth started wearing within a year, the exterior already rusting, I’ve already replaced the battery, new tires within 2 years. I’ve owned 4 Toyota corollas prior to this, and never ever experienced any such issues, as they are amazing cars. I needed an SUV as it’s easier for me to get in and out of it due to my disability. If Nissan doesn’t do something about this, I would never buy Nissan again.

I have a 2011 nissan rogue. Have problems with loosing power after driving on highway speed for long periods. Rpm goes up and car starts to slow down, very scary and dangerous..
Also have a burnt smell from ac vents after long rides
