According to technical service bulletin/TSB 21 – 009 – 05, the 2004 Dodge Durango equipped with the 42RLE automatic transmission may exhibit a number of problems, along with the following diagnostic trouble codes/DTC’s: P0750, P0755, P0760, P0765, P0846, P0871 and/or P0841.
What Transmission Do I Have?
That’s a lot of diagnostic trouble codes. And each one could lead to a very expensive problem. That’s probably why Chrysler recommended changing the entire solenoid/pressure switch assembly, along with the 10 – way wiring harness. But they would only authorize the repair if there were signs of moisture and/or corrosion. If that wasn’t, the technician would have to continue to try to diagnose the problem.
Some of the symptoms that you could expect from this problem include:
Slipping and/or a harsh 1 – 2 shift
Vehicle will not move while in gear
Engine stalling
Torque converter clutch issues
Limp mode
Should the parameters of this TSB not apply, then the other potential causes of these problems can include a bad transmission wiring harness, valve body, transmission pump, ECU or TCM
