My 2005 Chev Cavalier with Getrag 5 speed will usually work well, but if really warm weather, pedal will only depress half-way.Just had master clutch cyc installed, when I ble ed air from actuator It,s better for a while, internal clutch slave unit, trying to avoid major teardown untill replacement of clutch,no clutch cable to kink,no binding of pedal bushings springs etc.Alldata Diy,Chiltons manuals show 1.Clutch Master cyc,2,Slave unit attached to throwout brng of course.Otherwise, shifts well,no gear clash, just this stupid pedal issue with mind of its own.Anybody with similar issues?

Here are a couple of thoughts. First, it is quite possible that you have an air bubble in the line that has to be bled. That would make your clutch react in the manner you describe. Check the bleeder valve to see if you can get all of the air out of the line.

Another thought is a binding, slipping or broken connector rod with the master cylinder. There is a connector rod that comes up to the base of the cylinder that can either have been knocked off altogether or which may have loosened up and has worked its way loose. If this is the case, check the connector shaft closely to see where it has loosened; reattach it and retighten it.

If this isn’t the problem, check to see if the Y-connector hasn’t begun binding, knocking the connecting rod off. If this is the case, you will have to replace what appears to be a fork unit and rods, adjusting them to the specs you find in the service guide.
