4R44E Transmission Problems

I’ve got a 99 ranger and the infamous 4r44e 2nd to 3rd flare has been giving me issues. As well as hard shifting and fluid leaking from the extension housing. I just replaced the output shaft seal so hopefully it won’t leak. 1st to 2nd flare when going up a steep hill or it won’t grab at all. I flushed it because I accidentally put merc/dex in it, then filled up with merc5. I know about the servo bore issues with the 4r44e. My questions are would a band adj fix it & do I have to drop the tran to replace servo pistons?
