2000 Explorer, Car Dies When Put in Drive

I have a 2000 ford explorer eddie bauer when I start my car its starts but when I put it in drive it dies. I can drive it by putting my foot on accelator and break at the same time, is this the solenoid and if so how much does it cost for repairs, your help will be appreciated Lena
