Drive around 15min then gear stuck in 2 with 3000 rpm. Dodge Journey 2010

On a chrysler 300 srt design the transmission(nag1) is reluctant to go in gear while cold. If I try to backup when cold sometimes the car will not move. Things get better after warm up but even then it will slip if I accelerate too hard.
